Subject: RE: AR52 Read Ranges
Hi Jin,
Yes, all antennas need to be re-tune after installation to achieve the best read range. Otherwise, the reflected power is too high, and it jams the receiver.
Configure the RFID Reader:
- Go to “RF LINK & INVENTORY” view, and check the “Configure RF link and inventory setting”. Make sure the settings are appropriate, especially a Region setting. It’s also good to enable Auto Tune -feature.

- Configure the antenna settings to match the assembly. Especially, be sure to disable all unused antenna ports!!! Enable also the Tune antennas.

- Go to CONFIGURE DEVICE view and check that you have correct tasks selected. Then click the “Configure Device” button. Make sure that there’s no anything extra on top of the antennas in case that you have an “Tune Antenna” selected.

After these steps, the reading distance should be as good as it can.

Subject: AR52 Read Ranges
Hi Support,
I’ve a feedback from my engineer the read range of AR52 are short. We only achieve about 50cm.
The same tag was tested with another reader (Zebra FX9500) and manage to achieve about 3-5m read range.
The antenna we tested are Zebra AN440 and AN480.
Do you have AR52 read ranges comparison table for our reference?
Note:
Do we need to re-tune all the antennas to achieve the best read range?
Regards,
Jin
